SANEM Online Training Program on CGE Modeling
October 15-17 and 22-24, 2020
SANEM invites the applications for the Online Training Program on CGE Modeling to be held on October 15-17 and 22-24, 2020 via zoom platform.
TRAINING OBJECTIVES
• Impart knowledge on theory and applications of computable general equilibrium (CGE) models
• Enhance policy research capacity
• Expand network among researchers and institutions for enhanced collaboration
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants should have at least a Master’s degree in economics or a related subject and a good knowledge of applied micro and macroeconomics. While no previous knowledge of modeling is assumed, applicants must have research experience in international trade, climate, and development issues. Preference will be given to the candidates who have some experience in using quantitative research tools. As this training program is tailored for early career researchers, participants aged 40 years and older are discouraged to apply.
APPLICATION PROCESS AND SELECTION
Interested candidates are requested to submit the following documents by September 15, 2020 at sanem.conference@gmail.com.

• Recent CV/resume (not exceeding four pages)
• Letter of expression of interest
• Letter of recommendation
The selection results will be announced by September 25, 2020.
COURSE FEE
The course fee to participate in the training is US$ 150 per person.
INSTRUCTOR
Dr. Selim Raihan will conduct the training. He is a Professor at the Department of Economics, http://www.aipa.com.au/cialis-online/ University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and the Executive Director of the South Asian Network on Economic Modeling (SANEM). He holds a PhD from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. Dr. Raihan has extensively worked on applied economics, especially assessing impacts of trade and economic policies, using country-specific and global Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) models, and micro and macro-econometric modeling and estimation techniques. He has a long experience in teaching international trade, economic modeling, quantitative economics, econometrics, development economics, and poverty dynamics. He has conducted trainings on economic modeling for over a decade in various countries including, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Mongolia, Senegal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
