Internship Opportunities
South Asian Network on Economic Modeling (SANEM) is one of the leading think tanks in South Asia, initiated to build a network of economists and policymakers. Established in 2007, SANEM is a non-profit research organization based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. SANEM is dedicated to promoting economic modeling and research in the areas of international trade and regional integration, poverty, inequality and growth, labour market, environment, and climate change, political economy and governance, human capital development, sustainable development goals, and financial economics. The organization collaborates with global, regional, and local think tanks, research organizations, universities, and researchers to produce high-quality policy and thematic research. SANEM also provides research support to governments and organizes training programs on economic modeling and contemporary economic issues. SANEM promotes young researchers from Economics, Business, and Social Sciences to undertake independent research on contemporary issues through its Annual Economists Conference and regular internship program for recent university graduates. Also, it arranges regular training and workshops through its capacity building programs on economic modeling and contemporary economic issues for participants of South Asia.
Role Description
SANEM is looking for dynamic and enthusiastic young economic minds with strong motivation in academic research for the position of Research Intern. The selected candidates will have the opportunity to work in a flexible environment. As a Research Intern at SANEM, you will assist in conducting research on various economic topics, including international trade, poverty, and labor market. Job responsibilities include, but not limited to, assisting in collecting data, draft research reports, and assisting researchers in various research projects. You will also have the opportunity to participate in training programs and collaborate with other researchers.
Academic Qualifications
• 3rd or 4th year undergraduate student of Economics.
Other Qualifications
• Strong writing skills in both English and Bangla
• Proficiency in data collection
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Understanding of economic issues
