Project description: SANEM, in collaboration with International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), Central Department of Economics, Tribhuvan University and Institute for Integrated Development Studies (IIDS) organised an “Advanced Training on Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) Modelling, was organised in Kathmandu, Nepal, from December 4 to 7, 2025. This training aimed to strengthen participants’ technical expertise in economy-wide modeling, equipping researchers and policymakers with the tools needed to make informed, data-driven decisions on pressing economic and policy challenges. In addition to advanced hands-on training in CGE modeling, the event featured a policy discussion session that focused on the practical applications and real-world impact of CGE modeling in policy formulation.
