Creating separate budgets for women or merely boosting funding for their programs is not what gender-responsive budgeting entails. Instead, gender-responsive budgeting aims to make sure that public resources are collected and distributed in ways that are efficient and advance gender equality and women’s empowerment. Within the constraints of the current income, expenditures, and allocations, it offers methods to examine the various demands and contributions of men and women, boys and girls and argues for altering budget policies to benefit all groups.
Therefore, an in-depth examination of national budgets is necessary to obtain disaggregated statistics for men and women as well as pertinent social categories. By using GRB analysis, practitioners can track and measure how well nations have adhered to national and international promises to advance gender equality.
