Collaboration: Giz Dhaka, Bangladesh
Starting date: March 25, 2025
Completion date: July 31, 2025

Project description: This study documents key findings and lessons from a project aimed at strengthening climate resilience in the Haor region, one of Bangladesh’s most vulnerable ecosystems. Covering interventions such as flash-flood protection through revetments and retaining walls, buffer zone management with tree plantations, and plinth-raising of community areas, the study highlights innovative practices to safeguard livelihoods and reduce climate risks. With a strong focus on inclusivity, it captures the experiences of marginalized groups, particularly women and vulnerable communities, and provides actionable recommendations for scaling climate-resilient infrastructure across similar contexts.
